Domestic travel services in Africa are un-digitized. Transport operators do not have the infrastructure to go digital. A single intercity bus operator has an average of 30 buses and 20 bus stops. This bus operator uses pen and paper to manage their operations hence causing cash leakage and bad customer experience. On the other hand, travelers do not have a method to book tickets online and compare all travel options. A traveler wastes an average of 2 hrs and USD to go buy their intercity bus ticket.
BuuPass is a platform that enables long-distance transport operators to digitize their operations and connects them to travellers to book their tickets online. Transport operators can manage their operations, inventory and sales through our bus management system (BMS). We then connect them to our marketplace, where travellers can search, compare and book their tickets across different channels, including websites, apps, USSD code and APIs consumed by super apps.
Our value proposition for:
- Transport operators - digitized operations, minimized cash leakages, data-driven business analytics, more sales from online bookings on BuuPass marketplace & BuuPass partners like banks and telcos who consume BuuPass APIs
- Travellers - One-stop-shop to search and compare different travel options. Book and pay seamlessly using mobile money. We are solving a $40B problem in Africa’s intercity transport industry, a sector that has enormous potential and has often been ignored.
